The first annual Doggie Dip was held at the Sports Complex Pool on Monday, March 12th, and attracted over forty canines of all sizes, ages and breeds. The pets, that are normally not allowed in the pool area, were invited for a special swim before the scheduled draining and cleaning of the pool.

It was hard to tell who was having more fun - the dogs or their owners, but there was definitely a whole lot of shaking going on! The dogs swam, dove, fetched and frolicked in the pool for three hours. Some stayed with their owners while others went nuts playing with new friends. Others, especially the smaller ones, wore life preservers. Treats for both canines and humans were also enjoyed.
On Monday, the best place to view the activity is by parking on the cul-de-sac of Shrimp Pond Circle and walking down the trail easement to the pond. On Tuesday, park along Walker House Landing and walk down the trail easement that leads to the fishing dock. Each day we will gather at a location along the edge of the pond that provides the best vantage point and will describe what the crew is doing and how rice gates work.
