Fishing

Whether your passion is salt water or fresh water fishing, Spring Island offers exceptional sport. Serious anglers are attracted not only by the diversity of species available, but also by the fishing opportunities that change with the seasons. The ecology of the region and the water purity of the creeks and rivers provide unique fishing and beautiful surroundings.

The club’s fulltime fishing guide offers both inshore and offshore fishing charters aboard club-owned boats. Redfish, trout, cobia and tarpon provide great inshore sport, while wahoo, dolphin, king mackerel and tuna are favorite offshore game fish.

Spring Island’s 36 fresh and saltwater ponds provide another great fishing option. Bass and bream are abundant and the ponds are an ideal place for anglers to hone their skills and for youngsters to learn the sport. The saltwater ponds are home to flounder and redfish, which are fun to catch and provide great table fare.

The Outfitter’s office can provide fishing gear and important information on where to fish, best time of day and choice of bait. Whether you have a passion for deep sea sports fishing or enjoy casting into a calm freshwater pond, Spring Island offers extraordinary fishing at its best.

We invite you to come see why Sporting Classics magazine called Spring Island “a sportsman’s nirvana.”
